How often should you have an electrical inspection we recommend
Homeowners
We recommend getting an EICR every 5 years.It is also advisable to have an EICR before completing on a house purchase.
Landlords
These new Regulations require landlords to have the electrical installations in their properties inspected and tested by a person who is qualified and competent, at an interval of at least every 5 years. Landlords have to provide a copy of the electrical safety report to their tenants, and to their local authority if requested.
Other situations
You might also want to consider getting an EICR after an electrical incident or fault. This can help you identify the cause of the incident and any underlying issues that need to be addressed.
